5/5
Is not a typical hotel/hostel type. Is more like a Korean style motel/homestay so don't expect high end facilities, superb staff treatment, 5-stars bed, etc.
Pros:
1) near 2 metro stations (Beotigogae & Yaksu), walking distance from Itaewon.
2) Generally quiet residential area with few local supermarkets and restaurants nearby.
3) Warm welcome from the old lady who is taking care of the place
4) Late check out request granted
5) drinking water refill
6) bed heater available (for those who scare cold)
7) cheaper option with decent stay
Cons:
1) basic room facilities only
2) the old lady can only speak Korean, can't read so is quite difficult to communicate
OUR STORY:
We read some comments about the helpful old lady taking care of the place. Thought to meet her in person and that's why we opt to stay here.
The first impression about Korea ain't pleasant since we landed due to mainly language barrier and we met some rude ppl as well along the way which kinda make us feel unfriendly and not welcomed. Somehow these negative impression changes during our stay here in this motel/homestay. The old lady has the warmest smile and very welcoming when we arrive (like a mother longing for son/daughter visits kinda feel)
She tried her very best to help us with our request although we can't really communicate well with her (because she speaks Korean only). We stayed for 5nights and our laundry is piling up and she gladly helped us to wash our clothes, really grateful with this. I really hope can chat with her and knows her story because I felt that she has a lot of stories to tell (she has a special son staying with her in the small room near the entrance). We brought her some food as a token of appreciation for helping us with the laundry. Never regretted staying at this place because of her warm and welcoming smile, it really changes our perspective for the rest of our trip. I would choose to stay here again.
NOTE: If anyone that can speak Korean happened to stay in this place, do ask about her life story.
