This was my 2nd of 8th hotel that I stayed in 2 weeks "roughing it" Korea trip. As I was trying to travel "cheap", at $50 per night, this was 2nd most expensive hotel out of 8. I wanted to see all three coasts of Korea, west, south, and east, and this was west leg of the trip. I wanted stay in Baekam coastal road which I heard famous for scenic drive. Other hotels in this area was at least twice more. Unfortunately, my trip was all buses and walking, and I wonder if I would make this worthwhile. |Hotel was too put it bluntly was out in nowhere. There is no markets to buy supplies. Only restaurant within walking distance was closed as I stays off peak time. Fortunately, I bought dinner to-go at Yeonggwang. I wasn't able to figure out bus that goes to the hotel, so I took cab instead from bus terminal which cost about $18. Other than isolation, it was great stay. Hotel had all the amenity and everything was clean and worked well. Ocean view from my room was fabulous. Walking down the road to the sea, there was a park with stairs that went all the way to the beach, and it was really really nice. Walking up 3 minutes up the road, there is a great cafe with wonderful view. Overall, I thought it was great change of pace hotel with quiet tranquility and great view if you can handle isolation. Positive: nice hotel with nice view. Negative: isolation, no nearby market or restaurant, and no front desk. Someone seem to realize I was in the lobby and immediately came out to check me in. Tip: I took bus back to Yeounggwang, and it was 80 cents. There was bus at 9:15 (I heard also 10:15). You just put 1000W in the basket. If you want to avoid paying cab and take bus to the hotel, look for bus that goes to Baekam-ri from Yeonggwang bus terminal. There is schedule posted in bus terminal and bus actually comes inside bus terminal.
